qrcodeq is built around a simple idea: a QR code or barcode generator should not need to collect the private thing you are trying to encode. For ordinary static QR codes, barcode previews, scanner uploads and bulk CSV exports, the current site is designed to do the work in your browser. That means WiFi passwords, contact cards, CSV rows, uploaded screenshots and barcode values are not intentionally sent to qrcodeq servers just to create the file.
Information you enter into tools
When you type a link, WiFi password, vCard, phone number, message, barcode value or similar content into a generator, that content is used to render the QR code or barcode in your browser. If you upload a logo for a QR code or an image for the scanner, the file is read locally by the page. We do not ask you to create an account for these core tools.
You should still treat anything you encode as public once you print or share the code. A QR code is meant to be scanned. A barcode is meant to be read. If the encoded value is sensitive, do not place it on a public sign, package, label or handout.
Server logs and basic diagnostics
Like most websites, our hosting and security systems may receive basic technical information when your browser requests a page. This can include your IP address, browser and device information, the page requested, the time of the request, referring page and error details. We use this information to keep the site available, investigate abuse, fix broken pages and understand whether the service is working.
Cookies and local storage
The first version of qrcodeq is intended to avoid nonessential tracking by default. Some browser storage may be used for essential preferences, such as remembering tool settings on your own device, if that feature is enabled. If we later add analytics, advertising, affiliate tracking or personalization cookies, we will update this policy and the Cookie Policy before relying on those technologies.
Contact messages
If you contact us by email or through a future contact form, we will use the information you provide to read, route and respond to your message. We may keep reasonable records of support, legal, abuse or business correspondence.
Legal bases for EU and UK visitors
Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on the following: providing the requested tool or page, our legitimate interests in security and service reliability, compliance with legal obligations and consent where nonessential cookies or similar technologies require it.
Retention
Browser-side tool data remains under your control unless you choose to save or share the generated file. Server logs are kept only for a reasonable operational period unless needed for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance or dispute handling. Contact messages are kept as long as needed for the reason they were sent and for ordinary records.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to or receive a copy of personal information we hold about you. To make a request, contact us at [email protected]. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
Children
qrcodeq is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
International processing
The site may be hosted or supported by providers in countries other than your own. When that happens, technical data may be processed in those locations according to the provider arrangements and applicable law.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures for a tool site of this type. No website can promise perfect security, so avoid entering secrets that should never be turned into a scannable or printable code.
