When to use an X or Twitter QR code

X rewards live moments, and the QR codes that point there follow the same rule: speaker slides, event posters, campaign handouts, launch cards. Link to the exact post when the message is timely, or to the profile when the printed material may stay around for months.

Send people to a current profile

X profile codes are usually printed for events, badges or creator promos.

  • Check the handle one more time before export.
  • Use a public post link only if that post will stay live.
  • Keep the prompt plain so the brand name stays readable.

If the account changes names often, use a landing page instead.

Create an X or Twitter QR code

  1. Decide whether the print piece should send people to a profile, one post, a community or a campaign thread.
  2. Paste the X or Twitter URL and check that the content is public and useful to people who are not logged in.
  3. Generate the QR code with enough size for the slide, poster, badge or handout.
  4. Export the SVG for presentations and print files; PNG covers quick placement.
  5. Scan the finished artwork during a real presentation or event setup check.

Where X QR codes fit

  • Speaker slides
  • Event posters
  • Campaign cards

Profile and post checks

  • Profile links suit material that stays up for months; post links suit short campaigns.
  • Check that the link is public before printing it on event material.
  • Avoid relying on a QR code alone during a talk. Include the handle in text as a fallback.

X QR mistakes to avoid

  • Linking to a single post for material that will stay printed after the topic is old.
  • Forgetting to show the handle near the QR code on slides or posters.
  • Using a link that asks new visitors to log in before they can understand the destination.

X and Twitter QR questions

Should I link to a post or my profile?

A post fits a short campaign or a live conversation. A profile fits speaker slides, networking material and anything printed to last.

Can people scan it without the X app?

Most phones will open the link in a browser if the app is not installed, but the experience depends on the user's device and login state.

What should I print next to the QR code?

Print the handle or a short reason to scan. That gives people a fallback and makes the QR code feel less anonymous.

Can I use this on speaker slides?

Yes. Make the QR code large, keep the handle visible and scan it from the back of the room during setup instead of only checking it on your laptop.

What if the post becomes outdated?

If the printed material will be around for weeks or months, link to your profile instead. A post link is better for short-run event cards or launch-day handouts.

Can I link to an X Space or community?

Yes. Paste the Space or community URL and test from a phone that isn't logged in. Spaces expire after the broadcast ends, so use that link only for live event cards.
